The Beauty of Discipline

Hebrews 12:7-8

Title: The Beauty of Discipline

Key Scripture reference - Fully embrace God’s correction as part of your training, for he is doing what any loving father does for his children. For who has ever heard of a child who never had to be corrected?  We all should welcome God’s discipline as the validation of authentic sonship. For if we have never once endured his correction it only proves we are strangers and not sons. (Hebrews 12:7-8 TPT)

Sermon description - God is a Father who disciplines His children out of love, not frustration or fear.  His discipline is not harsh, and does not produce shame or guilt within us.  As Jesus demonstrates in Luke 9, He lovingly discipines us through His words, and we are changed.

Chosen People | Royal Priesthood

1Peter 2:9

Series:  Chosen People | Royal Priesthood
Title:  Peanut Paradigm

“But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world" (1 Peter 2:9 TPT).

There is a paradigm in today's Church which must shift in order for us to fulfill God's mission on Earth! Every follower of Jesus is a priest and a minister...not just pastors and church leaders! We all have a vital role to play in reaching our world, and God has given each of us an individual mandate from Heaven. What's in your heart? What's in your hand? What's your peanut?

Resurrection Power in Jesus' Name

John 14:12-13

Resurrection Power in Jesus' Name

“I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father!  For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name.” (John 14:12-13 TPT)

We were born for the impossible!  In Jesus' name we have His power and full authority to ask the Father for anything, and He will do it (John 14:14, 16:24).  We must renew our minds by replacing the lies of the enemy with the Truth!  It's time to believe fully, have faith, and declare the promises of His Word...in Jesus' name!

Romans 8:11

Resurrection Power

"Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!" (Romans 8:11 TPT)

Jesus' blood paid our debt to sin in full, but we cannot stop at the cross! There is more! The same resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead lives in us!  We are one with Jesus, co-glorified with Him, and commissioned to do even great things than He did — because we have resurrection power!

Freedom and the Spirit's Fruit
Special guest Mark Burris delivers a Kingdom living message on activating the fruit of the Spirit in everyday life.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:13, 22-23)

Operating Out of Rest
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”  (Matthew 11:28-30).
Striving...performance...anxiety...exhaustion; all words that contradict the life Jesus died for His redeemed to walk in.  Pastor Leslie Wright encourages us that as we live at rest in Jesus, He will pull us into breakthrough.
